The par 3 17th at Tetherow is probably around 150-160 yards and the course is at 4k feet elevation.

You can miss left and the ball will kick down off the hill onto the green, which slopes from left to right.

A little long is okay as well. Short and run, not a good idea if you can help it.

This #7 at Musgrove Mill GC in SC.  It is about 200/180 yards across the Enoree River.  The back falls off dramatically and any a litle right is wet.  The green is two tiered and when the pin is back it is a bear of a par.





I have some favorite par threes that I have played but tis is one I play all the time and my heart pounds each time I step on the tee.

Hey Tommy, when was the last time you were down?   Have you seen the "New" 7th since the work was done on the river bank.   It looks fantastic, they did some slight moving of the tees, and have cleaned up that whole riverbank when they brought in the erosion control rocks.

I will probably be out there on Black Friday, so if you havent seen it, I will see about taking a camera along to post a couple pics of the changed version.

The third was the only hole rebuilt so far.  From what I understand this hole had been redone by Desmond Muirhead, probably in the 1970's.  We suffered some severe damage from a windstorm two years ago where we lost about 8 huge Poplars.  The club decided at that point to take the opportunity to redo the entire hole, except for the green, at that time.  The hole was probably the worst on the course.  The green, however is one of the best on the course, unfortunately I don't know for sure if it was designed by A.V. Macan or Desmond Muirhead.
