The currently ongoing thread about Dornoch got me pondering how UK course routings or significant features were changed forever by WWII.....not for a few years, but forever, permanently, never returning to the original.
Examples that come immediately to mind -
Dornoch - airfield
Turnberry - airfield
Saunton - tank training area
Royal Jersey - coastal gun emplacements
Stover, Devon - Army hospital
Malvern, The Worcestershire - Army hospital
Various/numerous - concrete gun/observation posts
What would be some other examples..not just links courses, inland courses as well.
Courses in Europe were obviously also effected. Perhaps a separate thread would be useful to detail them.
