Headwaters Par 3 Cashiers NC

The "fewest members" thread reminded me of this Tom Fazio par 3 course near Wade Hampton.  When I visited Wade, however, noone mentioned Headwaters.  Anyone know anything about it?  There used to be a website that had pictures (several yrs ago) but as far as I can tell, it has been taken down.  Any photos out there?

I have played it once or twice.  It is very pretty and fun with a great practice facility (given the 25 members).  It is a very short course.  Most of the holes are PW or even SW.  That is fun because you can head out with three clubs and play the whole thing in under an hour.   Pretty expensive for 9 wedge shots though.

You must be a very strong wedge player. The yardages from the back tees, whcih are the only tees I have ever seen anyone play from are:

#1   113 yds
#2   184
#3   100
#4   149
#5   105
#6   129
#7   167
#8   114
#9   147

I've played the course several times over the past few years, and it is easily the best par 3 course I've ever seen.  Of course, some of the holes are short, but they have challenging greens. Holes number 2, 4, 6, 7, and 9 would certainly compliment any course. Yes, the conditioning, landscaping, and practice facility are over-the-top for such a small membership, but it is a really fun experience for those who can afford it. I'm just lucky enough to have friends who can.

I don't have pictures, because I never take a camera onto a golf course.  I figure that any hole I can't remember, probably isn't worth taking a picture of.

Well, I wish the internet pics were still available....I saw them prior to joining this group but I distinctly remember feeling as though the holes laid in a very beautiful and natural fashion...I didn't think that they reminded me of other Fazio work and I thought it might be a really interesting study....anyone have pictures?  anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

Did the holes on this course seem different from Fazio's other work...did it remind you of the work at Wade Hampton?

I don't anything about this course in particular, but looking at the yardages reminds me of one of my most pleasurable rounds of the summer. It was with Nick Schaan and Jim Haley at the Par 3 course in Victor ID. I carried a wedge, a sand wedge and a putter, two balls, a couple tees and a repair tool. It was simple, an enjoyable walk without complication. It made me want to build something like it only more in tune with my own preferences, style-wise.
