Secrets of Great Golf Course Architects Book
« on: November 15, 2008, 05:58:16 PM »
I picked up this new book at Barnes and Nobles today and was glad I didn't buy it for $40.00.  The title is a bit mis leading because it is more of a book of anecdotes and stories than actual information about architects work.  Did anyone else see the book?  Your thoughts.

I was surprised too.
I've liked several of the stories.
Many not so much - I can better understand why a developer would rather hang out with Ernie Els or Fred Couples than someone in a tartan coat.
The book is pretty ugly inside and the layout bothers me - all the colors and wasted space with the brochure paragraphs before the stories.
It has also been educational for me - learning some of the personalities.
Cheers

Does anyone have the details on another golf book that looks like it is modeled after the world atlas?  I saw it in a book store today. It is titled GOLF but then some subtitle I can't remember. It had a foreward by adam scott. It had some wonderful looking photos of some really good courses but I didn't have time to read any of it to tell if it was quality. Any help??
