Yes congratulations.  Its a Willie Park golf course.   Short, around 6300 yards.   Not sure of the conditions.

I'm sure Willie P. loved F&F.   The cool news is that he seems to have done way more in the US than anyone ever knew prior to recently and a few of us also believe that he was the Father of Naturalism world-wide.   

It also seems that some of the best super's I know are ending up at his courses!  ;D

We now have another, more pleasant connection.

My wife worked on the grounds/greens crew at Shuttle Meadow many years ago.

I'll have to stop by and see you when we visit her folks in New Britain.

As a native of Avon, CT, I have never had the pleasure of playing Shuttle Meadow.  I've walked it once, and remember noticing how undulating and interesting the greens were.  I also know that SMCC has been known for its fast greens, but had had some difficulties the last few years.  It looks like there are great things in its future!  Cheers!

And thanks to all.  My commute will be less than half and my youngest daughter may have to stop calling our home, "Mommy's house". ;)

I am very excited to be at such a wonderful and historic course.  I have not been to any other Willie Park Jr. courses but character of Shuttle Meadow is very classic.  A smart routing combined with some fantastic terrain and very interesting green contours make it an outstanding course.  I am very busy, but excited.



The pictures are tough in this low autumn light.

You're right. I don't know why I thought Prichard... Bruce Hepner's been working with Shuttle Meadow for more than a decade.

My understanding is that the club is unhappy with Hepner's work - he rebuilt the same green twice - and is actively seeking another architect. Is this true?
