Name the Golf Course Aerial...

I'm hoping/thinking this will be a tough one, so thought it'd be fun to post it as we head into the weekend.

I've also posted a clue that isn't too far away....

Kalen,

You will have to be more generous with your clues!

From the trees, it looks as though this could be in the Northwest? And it is obviously 36, one across the road from eachother. Which leaves me with no clue.

There isn't much in the way of water on those courses.

Is the clue a missile silo or something?

Its a toughie guys.

Bob, your on the right track, its certainly not South of the Pac Northwest.

The clue is: it was once a highly classified listening device.

Winner winner chicken dinner...Once again proving nothing is too obscure for this group.

It is indeed Moose Run in Anchorage Alaska...the so called northern-most 36 hole facility in the world.  ;D

Ian,

Good question, certainly looks like one, but its my understanding that particular one in Alaska was built specifically to pick up all types of tranmissions world wide before the advent of satellites and other technologies.

Either way, very cool stuff!!

Interesting!  It has the general shape of one, but as I recall a normal civilian VOR has some red markings.  I think I'll look into that.
