I hit the corrugated metal shed on the Road Hole with a spectacular slice. The ball caromed back into the middle of the fairway. My playing partner, a member of the R&A, stated that he had not seen anyone do that before, although I'm surely not the only one.

I didn't think the Cherry Hills clubhouse was in danger till I skulled a shot from a greenside bunker on #18 that hit the awning and bounced back nearly on the green. Fortunately, no members were sitting out there then.

The home holes at Troon, Prestwick and N. Berwick are really intimidating for this reason.

The 1st tee of N Wales is ever so similar to Tony's photo.

I am surprised nobody has mentioned Troon.  Its dead easy to clatter the house there.

Tom D, that church at West Cornwall was one of my victims.  I clattered one off the side of the church and back out across the fairway.

The building I have seen hit the most has to be the house behind the greatest finishing hole in golf

#10 tee at San Francisco GC.

The six times I have played there, the only thing I envision standing on that tee is pull-heeling one into the clubhouse and then being escorted off the property.

I'd think you'd need to be the person in this story - "Jung" - in order to hit the clubhouse at SFGC from #10 tee.

Improbable tee shot accident

I have hit THe Old Course Hotel but not broken any windows.

My son shanked a wedge through the last big window of MPCC's Clubhouse from the slope on the Dunes 18th. It was a Sunday and the Loggia was packed with the usual geriatric crowd, fortunately the end portion of the room was curtained off and no one was near... or hurt. Apparently it did cause a couple of pacemakers to shudder.

Bob
Bob,

As I recall from our round on the Shore this past May, one Tom Huckaby almost duplicated your son's shot. A very uncharacteristic slice from an otherwise fine round-sorry Huck but I still chuckle about that shot. ;D                 Jack

Tom Huckaby

Jack - you chuckle about that shot, I have chills run up my spine thinking about the window I damn near hit.

Last time I intentionall try to bounce one of that hill.

I've hit the dorms left of the 7th at Hotchkiss about 10 times, although not lately because I haven't played there in years.  The snap hook is definitely something I have in my arsenal.

That parking lot to the left of 10 at Philly Cricket Club scares me.  One double cross and some Jag gets it in the window.

Yes.  Fortunately it's a par three.

As I recall, the green on the previous hole literally hugs the clubhouse corner.

can a bad shot hit the windmill at NGLA??

Paul-

Ive done it.

It was one of those days at National when the wind was blowing so hard I could barely hit the ball in time before the wind blew it off. Tried to play a driver pretty much left of the windmill and it was "a dreaded straight ball", i watched in horror. Luckily it hit some wood, instead of glass or the acctual windmill.  Kicked left and found my ball just in the fairway of 16. I made par and assured my partner that must be some sort of "dot".

Speaking of National, I'm surprised there has been no mention of the Clubhouse.

The windmill is in play on the 2nd tee shot. If you pull  it on the aggressive line it will put a nice dent in it.
Also the clubhouse was mentioned and im sure it has been hit a few times on 1. I didnt realize how close it sat to the 18th fairway until we ate in the birdcage and the fairway is right outside the window.

I can just picture myself if and when I play there:"Just don't hit the windmill, whatever you do don't hit the windmill....."

There's a church that is very much in play to the right of the first fairway at Fenwick GC in coastal CT.  The late Ms. Hepburn's house keeps its distance, though.

Tim's post reminded of the fact  that Susan Lucci, i believe, has a house near Garden City...i wonder if one can land a ball on her front lawn in the hopes of getting a look at her...
