As Bob Crosby and Tom Huckaby have stated in another thread, some of us have been around a long, long time.  Its hard to believe just how long.

With that, if I may be so bold to ask those who participated or lurked on the precursor to Golf Club Atlas, please stand-up and check-in so we know that your still with us and where your located!

I was "Panhandle Bill" on Bravenet (?) until Mr Huckaby told me "there's a new website you need to check out."  That was in mid 2001 I think, about the time of my first trip to Bandon with John Bernhardt, where I met but didn't play with Huck.

The "new website" was GCA.com and the fraternity of golf architecture whackjobs has never looked back.

Tommy - to which precursor do you refer?  There were several before that, as you know...  ;)

But this is good fun.  Of course count me in.

BTW I was referred here by Craig E - so blame him!

But then again I told Huntley about this place.... as well as McBride as he says... so with my bad did come a lot of good.  ;D

I  have been around through all the various incarnations from Golfweb, Bravenet and Traditional golf.  It seems like only yesterday to me.

And things have never been the same.

It also cracks me up that in that whole snapshot I have exactly one post.  I was either a lot quieter, or on vacation.  Likely the latter.

Thanks for posting some of those!

Does anyone know what ever happened to Court Graham? What a great guy! Del Ratcliff too. Del had a log-in for here. But I haven't seen him post in years.

Many others were there as well.

I'm proud to say I've play golf with everyone above this line(except John Foley I think) and have been the richer man for it. 

But, what was that bar room brawl of a site before Traditional golf Golfweb and Bravenet?  I was Bende, Bende2, Bendelow2 or II, and RJ, and I forgot who I was when I was only posting in my pajamas or naked...  ::) :-\ ;D

I started in the Rules section of Golfweb, moved to the Architecture section and found it was a lot more fun.

From there through all the other incarnations to here.

I remember John Morrissett telling me about this new website he and his brother were starting when we were at the NCAA Division II Men's championship in Valdosta, GA right after one of the first gatherings in Pinehurst in 1999.

I also remember playing my first round of golf with Tommy at the OGA club at Tukwila back then.  Meeting my long lost twin brother Bill through the group and partnering with him at the Renaissance Cup at Apache Stronghold.  Hopefully he'll be back here some day.

Also finding out that this guy I'd worked with Seattle for a winter was a golf architecture nut also.  Hopefully I'll get out to OK some day for some golf with Mr. Edgmand again (Craig, it might be this summer if I get invited to the US Am.)

In those days I was in Portland, then to Soquel, CA, Pittsburgh and now back in CA in Pacific Grove.  Lots of changes over the years.

That sounds right to me.  There were several, and the worst went by different names from time to time.  But the verbal graffiti exhibited there is why I always smile ironically when people complain about how "bad" this forum either is or has become.  Wow they don't know bad....

Bow Down And Worship Status, which Del usually bestowed upon Fazio, then more deservingly, Mike Strantz. He became somewhat friendly with Strantz.

Del and Court's get-together at that Strantz' Royal New Kent in Virginia I think it was the first actually known "get-together" with-in this motley group.

I remember first connecting with you all right as you were planning the Apostles of St. Andrews trip up here.  I didn't know you all nearly well enough to be included.  But I did enjoy all the stories.

And very very very sadly that's the last time you played Pasatiempo, isn't it Tommy?

Man you MUST see it as it is now.  It's incredible.
