We are trying to provide help to our club by using clubs from similar markets and climate etc to ours to look at budget, capital reserves,  maintenance practices etc. Does anyone know where to find this sort of information?

You can try NGF - National Golf Foundation...they compile this sort of info.
It is what it is.

Tiger, when I last served on our Board we contacted various similar clubs in the state with a survey of these budget and other items.  The regional clubs were very cooperative in this regard.  Other than NGF, as mentioned, I'm not aware of other allied organizations publishing this type of information as a composite survey.  You may have some success pulling the information together on your own as a club.
