One of the great joys in my life is reading the idiocy of the experts who install Ballyneal at #6 knowing the next time a readers poll is posted those same experts will expound on the idiocy of the common man.

WTF? Ballyneal number 6?

I do not recall reading anything of significnace on this site regarding the courses listed above Ballyneal.

Does the GCA group not like them, are they not that interesting, or maybe I just missed those threads, any thoughts?

PS - Cougar Canyon is the coolest name for a golf course ever (or is that just the name of the 19th hole . . .  ;D reow!!!!!)

Congratulations to our own Forrest Richardson for

35. Olivas Links    Ventura   CA   2007   Forrest Richardson

It might make the top 10 for under $75 for Golf Digest new. It opened in May of 2007.

The period of 1990 to 1997 was not a good period for classic architecture.

Most of the courses in this period are now being redone or have been redone. For example. Pete Dye moved the 18th green at the Ocean Course and Shadow Creek is being remodeled also.

I think it is time for Rees to go back and update Sand Pines. Someone mentioned how great Sandpines would be with rough edge bunkers and I would add some blind shots into greens.
