Bethpage Red - Sat. Oct. 24th
« on: October 24, 2008, 03:26:25 PM »
I am heading to Bethpage tonight, going to grab a hotel room and then play the Red tomorrow. If I get out early enough, I will be playing the Yellow after.

Anybody care to join me to meet up?

My son was there Thursday 10/16 to play the Black.  They did a deep tine aerification on the Red on the 14th and 15th.

10 days of good growing weather between should be good, especially if they didn't pull cores.

Decided to wait until morning - will be arriving at Bethpage State Park around 7AM, ideally. Weather looks to be iffy, but if anyone is feeling adventurous I'm up for the company.

Great pictures.  How were the greens?

Aggressively topdressed. I'm guessing LI was a bit cooler in the past 2 weeks than down here in Philadelphia, they were healing, but not fully healed. They weren't deep-tined and cores were pulled.

Kyle,

I am sorry to have missed you! When Joe injured himself and couldn't join me on the Black on Friday (positively GLORIOUS day) I assumed that you no one was coming. Glad you got to play.

No problem Phil, seems we lucked out with the weather and I was able to enjoy great company with two local golfers.
