Maybe I am nuts, but quite by accident I have begun an informal collection of golf course scorecards.  Every time I play a new course, I grab two scorecards, one for the round I am playing that day, the other for my scorecard collection at home.  I have 60 something cards, mostly from obscure Midwestern courses and clubs that I have played over the last few years. 

Anyone else have this type of golf / architecture related collection?  I guess it is an extension of my interest in courses and architecture.

I have a fairly significant collection of yardage books. Maybe 40-50 as not all courses (especially private) have yardage books available.

yep....flags. I have the top 100 and then some. My Merion whicker being the centerpiece.

Yeah, I always grab five and sell the other four on ebay.  It is a great way to pay for gas money.  The worst thing about golf freebees is trying to get dry after showering with those tiny towels they let you take home.

I have a pretty good collection of logo golf balls of all the courses i have deemed spongeworthy on display in my office, about 200 or so at the moment.

I have a lot of scorecards, but it isnt anything I would consider a collection, a lot of them are bent or torn.

i also have a flagstick that someone who lived across the street from the city-of-Chicago owned Marquette Park GC sold me at a garage city about 20 years ago....i wonder where that person might have gotten that flagstick from...

I have a box of matches, some fire lighters and petrol if you need.  

Be a man collect Porn books if you must, but yardage books. Did I not say distance/yardage is take over – Robert, wake up before it is to late.

Have maybe 90- 100 scorecards and also a very large collection of ball markers from all over the world. Quite a few of the ball markers have been given to me by friends but everytime I play a course I get one for my collection.

I'll try to return this thread to its original topic. I have collected scorecards since I was a lad of 13 and sent requests to pros at all the top-ranked clubs back then (1970). The overwhelming majority sent me a scorecard--very classy. I have kept collecting them, but not as systematically. I think I have about 500.

I have doubles from a few Michigan courses, if you're interested.

I have a large collection of golf flags. 7 of them are top 100 courses.

Side note...Merion takes out their wicker "flags" at night, but they put out flags with the wicker image on them at night.

I have my fair share of those as well. Believe it or not, I don't use the yardage books but buy them just to collect. I love being able to go back through them a few years later, especially if it is a course I am most likely not going to see again.

By the way.... I hope I made you proud as I played both Olympic Lake and Cal Club this past weekend sans yardage info. No sprinklers or any info at Cal Club so that was a given, but made sure never to look at a yardage at Olympic. Definitely cost me quite a few shots, but it was an extra challenge and quite a bit of fun.

I have about three shoeboxes filled with scorecards, yardage books and ball mark repair tools. I have a bunch of logo ball marks, but those usually just end up in my bag and used frequently.

If I play a course that has a yardage book for sale, I'm going to buy it. A good way to get me around the course and a good keepsake.

I used to sort of collect cool looking ball markers until they started to become too decorative - enough so that they are too "round" to be good ball markers.  Now, I tend to get headcovers when I need them because I hate the manufacturer covers.  In fact, I am looking for a cool headcover to put my 7 wood to rest.  I made the mistake of laying it down near a mate's ball when I found it and he didn't think to pick it up!  I also get the odd hat/shirt when I need one, but none of this is for collecting - I use the stuff.  I also get the odd cool card, but I seem to misplace the buggers and can never find them.  All this stuff has gotten too expensive to not use.

Not counting a couple NLE's I have a scorecard for every course I have ever played except for one here in New Mexico that will be attained shortly. Something like 275 courses total. I try to get a blank card now, but some of the old ones have scores written in.

I also have quite a few yardage books, like Robert maybe about 40. Sometimes I buy them after the round if I especially liked the course, its pretty rare I use them much while playing unless the course is especially hard to figure out and I'm by myself.

I have a few logo balls, but don't display them or anything. Maybe once I get a few more.
