Mike S:

Just one question ...

How does CC of the Poconos make your list ?

I don't know if you added it as joke or are deadly serious.

Would like to know which applies.

Thanks ...

Sean:

Many thanks ...

I just don't see CC of the Poconos being in the same listing with the other layouts Mike mentioned.

To each his own though.

As CC of the Poconos pays his rent, so to speak, it should be #1 ... ;)

Well

No matter how I break it down, three courses always finish up there:

SANDWICH
NORTH BERWICK
PRESTWICK

The following are close, but not quite at the level of the above:

ENNISCRONE
ST ENODOC
PENNARD
BALLYBUNION
PORTRUSH
MERION

Since Sir Bob insists on 10:

ADDINGTON

The one thing I do hope, is that this list will change in the coming the years.

Ciao

In trying to find more pix of Pasa's 14th, I came across this thread and noticed that I hoped my list would change.  Well, I am not sure if my priorities changed, but my soul list looks much different today with six different courses.

North Berwick, Pennard, St Enodoc and Enniscrone remain.

Lahinch - recent trip impressed me to no end
Kington - it was a slow process for me,  but I eventually came to love this course above all others
Rye - terribly clever design
Cavendish - the design impresses as much for how fun it is as as it does for being designed for the climate
Michigan - is it blind love?
Lakewood Shores - the course which really got me thinking sideways

Ciao

I didn't try to cover different types/styles of courses.  So what surprises me most is there isn't a heathland course there.
New plays planned for 2024:Winterfield, Alnmouth, Camden, Palmetto Bluff Crossroads Course, Colleton River Dye Course  & Old Barnwell

The trouble with modern equipment and distance—and I don't see anyone pointing this out—is that it robs from the player's experience. - Mickey Wright

Geez.  Mine is virtually the same as 4 years ago!  Insert Pine Valley at #5, bump everything else back and that's it.  Probably have to get to Australia or Scotland for the list to change.
