OMAHA - without a doubt - QUARRY OAKS - Wonderful golf course.  It has been about 7 years since I played it, but it was awesome.

Stanley Thompson's Sleepy Hollow, not far from downtown in Brecksville, part of the Cleveland Metroparks system. In the fall, should be in wonderful color.

Bogey: The best place to visit in Cleveland 30 days from now is the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Bogey -- Early Brauer is all around you in Omaha. Everytime this comes up, I claim that Jeff and that little place in Mullen saved Nebraska golf. Anyway, you have Bent Tree in Council Bluffs, Woodland Hills in Eagle (just east of Lincoln) and Highlands (a Lincoln city course). Other places worth a visit are Willow Lakes (good Trent Jones) at the AFB in Bellevue and Arbor Links down the road in Nebraska City.

Quarry Oaks is fine as well. If access is no issue to you then Omaha CC is the choice, host of the 2013 Senior Open.

Depends where in Cleveland you want to play.

Manakiki in Willoughby Hills
Sleepy Hollow in Brecksville
Boulder Creek in Streetsboro
Quarry Golf Club in East Canton

I would concure with Manakiki and Sleepy Hollow. The R&R hall of fame is also well worth a side trip....in the evening.

Bogey, I live in the Omaha area, and recommend the following to you:

1)  Omaha C.C. (host of 2013 Senior US Open)
2)  Firethorn (in nearby Lincoln, great Pete Dye design)
3)  Arbor Links
4)  Happy Hollow Club
5)  Quarry Oaks
6)  Ironwood C.C.

5/6 of these are private (with Quarry being public), but I'm confident you can play, with a polite phone call to the golf shop.

I like Omaha CC as well, if you have any private connections.  You could also consider my Champions Run, home of a Nationwide event (and home to a Chip Beck hole in one and Jason Gore's battlefield promotion.

I did see they had a frost warning yesterday though!

Grab your hockey stick boys.  If the building and discovery of GCA continues on it’s current pace, the quality holes per capita in Nebraska will outshine a lot of places in the world.  Not to mention all of the small communities that have built, maintain and support their local 9 holers because of community pride and the game.  Milford, Neligh, Friend, Fairbury, Tekemah, Minden, Valentine, Kimball etc.

I will add to the list, if you are looking for true public golf in Omaha, when I lived there you would be lucky to get a tee time at Benson Park or Johnny Goodman.  I once witnessed a gang shooting across the street from #11 at Benson and Johnny Goodman, well if you don't know who he was....
