« on: September 26, 2008, 04:04:18 PM »
GCA,

I would like to invite those in the region that are interested to come a take a tour of The Dye Course at Rarity Mountain that we are building in the mountains of Tennessee.  Please give me a call (865) 300-9660 or send me an e-mail so we can setup some dates that work well for those that would like to come and see what we are creating.  You will be very impressed and we have about 12 holes grassed and we are planning a grand opening in June 2009.

This will be a ton of fun to hit some golf shots have a few drinks and allow you to see the great design features that Pete & P.B. Dye have used to create this unique mountain course.

Any photos?
Live Jupiter, Fl, was  4 handicap, played top 100 US, top 75 World. Great memories, no longer play, 4 back surgeries. I don't miss a lot of things about golf, life is simpler with out it. I miss my 60 degree wedge shots, don't miss nasty weather, icing, back spasms. Last course I played was Augusta

Matt,

Thanks for the invite. I hope those in the region can enjoy your hospitality. It is a great treat to tour a course in progress with those who are making it happen.

Thanks, Jeff (in Oregon...)

Guys,

I will post progress photos soon the weather is getting perfect for taking images and the invitation is open to anyone that values golf architecture.  Pete and P.B. Dye have really created something special with a nice collection of golf holes that work so well with our mountain property.

For those that are interested send me an e-mail so we can setup some dates for people to come and take a tour.  The Rarity Mountain development is located directly off I-75 Exit 156 Rarity Mountain Road in Jellico, Tennessee.

Can someone please tell me how you upload a collection of nice images into a thread?  I have tried this before and for some reason it will not allow the upload because the images are like 2MB each.

Matt

Were you thinking of setting up a small group sort of tour or just open to showing people around that happened to be passing through?

John,

I live in Knoxville if you want to go see The Dye Course just call me (865) 300-9660 and we will setup a date and time to go up and see the course.  I have keys to access to the property so bring yourself and a couple friends along with your clubs and lets have some fun.

I was really impressed by what Pete Dye did in the mountains of West Virginia.  Being from Michigan, that area is a perfect winter weekend retreat and this project certainly sounds interesting.  When is the course open for play?  Look forward to some pictures although they certainly will not give the terrain any justice....

David,

We are closing in on the nice fall color season in October and November.  The views are amazing and I am planning to take some new digital images that will show our progress since June 2008.  We are looking at a grand opening around May-June 2009.

As soon as I have a new PhotoBucket slideshow of new images I will post the link and also see if I can post a couple of the really nice images in this post.
