Adam,

The pictures of the Grand Canyon reminded me of my love of shade and shadows.  Looking out my office window, even just now, much of the beauty of the landscape is contained in the morning shadows.  Can you produce any pictures of Ballyneal where shadows enhance the landscape?

John, I know your question wasn't directed at me, but how about these?

Ed

The above picture alone proves that I am not always playing the fool.  Thanks.

I'm sold on it too.  A little slice of heaven, bury me at Ballyneal.

Ballyneal is a truly fascinating club.  One of the best I've ever seen.  Not being as fortunate as Tom Doak to play the great courses 10 times before rating them, I would give Ballyneal a 10 after playing 45 holes there.

One thing I have not seen discussed here...to me and my eye, the land at Ballyneal rises and falls more like the links courses of Western Ireland than any other land I have seen in the US.  For me, that is a really good thing.

John, what are you talking about?  That picture only proves the place is beautiful....what possible negative are you trying to point out from that photo.  (I am sure the members of the place can't wait to hear what you have to say).

The picture proves that my comment about the lack of interesting shadows proves that I don't always play the fool, sometimes I am just plain one.

Ballyneal is as much fun as any golfer should be allowed to have. A great place, a great atmosphere and wonderful people. It's chock-full of shots you could hit about eight different ways. What more is there you could want in a golf course?

Chip's opening pic of the fourth is awesome. To watch your drive against that blue sky is exhillerating.
