Gallery for Chick Evans/Long Jim Barnes match, on the 3rd green at White Bear Yacht Club (date unknown, to me; "circa 1925"):

This is a neat photo of what is believed to be a Raynor on the south side of MSP:

If I could only find the movie that Marion Hollins made of Cypress Point in 1928 then I would be a very happy man.

Tully

Did you ever find it?

Before there was "light rail": "Looking west on Marshall Avenue east of Otis Avenue along Town and Country golf course. The backup of streetcars is due to the reconstruction of the Lake Street bridge," at http://collections.mnhs.org/cms/largerimage.php?irn=10322079&catirn=10867771

Can anyone identify this course? http://collections.mnhs.org/cms/largerimage.php?irn=10262687&catirn=11118344

Dan, that's Interlachen at the 1937 Minnesota Women's State Amateur. That's probably Patty Berg teeing off on #10; she lost to Bea Barrett in the finals, 5 & 4 (Glenna Collett Vare beat 18-year-old Barrett in the semi-finals of the 1935 U.S. Women's Amateur at Interlachen, then beat 17-year-old Berg in the finals.) Compare that photo to this one taken of Bobby Jones in the 1930 U.S. Open at Interlachen, from the same vantage point atop the clubhouse:

Or, you already knew that, and were testing the Treehouse. If so, sorry.

Thanks, Rick.

If I'd been forced to guess, I'd have guessed No. 10 at Interlachen -- but it just doesn't look to me as if the green is as perched as I know it (or at least think it) to be.

Looking at Google maps now, it appears that those bunkers on the right have shrunk considerably, and the big bunker on the left has become three small bunkers -- but maybe those are optical illusions, too.
