The next place I always look is flickr.com

flickr.com/search/?q=%22san%20francisco%22%20golf%20club

The guy who posts on flickr under the name "birdie eagle birdie" is a frequent lurker on golfclubatlas.com.  I first made contact with him a couple of years ago when I was searching for photos of the Sheep Ranch and his were the only ones I could find.  He would be a good addition to this site.

Ed

I've seen his Bandon photos too... Turns out he even has some SFGC photos!

SFGC is a private club.
They own it and they pay for it.
What part of:

They do not permit/highly discourage pictures, so they are few and far between.

don't you get?

Wow Pete, I did a Google street view and aerial view of the course.  The entire site is built for seclusion and privacy!  It seems even their maintenance facility is secluded without an actual road to it, within the FW routing of the course!  What do maintenance folk do, walk in?  Did they hire Dr. MacKenzie for his camoflauge talent to hide the whole golf course in addition to his golf course architecture of holes?  ;) ::) ;D

Is it trespassing and violating private property tenets if you look at it on aerials?   ;) ::) ;D  BTW, on the areal, it looks like a grand total of 6 people out on the course playing, a foursome with caddies, and a couple other guys, and anyone else appear to be maintenance staff.  And, that on an obviously beautiful day!  ::) 8)
No actual golf rounds were ruined or delayed, nor golf rules broken, in the taking of any photographs that may be displayed by the above forum user.

I thought Tillie designed SFGC.

Peter

Upon arriving at SFGC I enquired about taking my camera on course, advice given "No Problem", so i proceeded while being discreet

Merion are alos not keen on cameras, as our caddies told us, but we still see many photos posted from Merin. Is there any difference?

Andrew B. -

Nice pics and thanks for posting them. If you asked about taking pics and were told "no problem," than there is no problem.

Andrew.  Nice pics.  I never had a chance to see the new holes with the new routing but the volcano green hole #13 looks amazing.  Though my favorite hole is 12.  I do know they discourage photo taking.  But i believe as long it is for personal use and not for media they let it be.  But again I am no member.  They allowed it once the article in links magazine which they have on the wall in the clubhouse.  Who did you ask?  One of the caddy's who live under the freeway. ;D

They have extended the bunker on the right of 7 such that it wraps around the back right portion of the green. They are also in the process, I believe, of recapturing greenspace on the back and to the right of the 14th green.
