« on: August 22, 2008, 04:49:30 PM »
I am going to head down there to play golf this weekend, which one do you prefer, better course and conditions?
Thanks for suggestions

Pelican is the better of the two.
Arroyo Trabuco is better than both.

David,

Pelican Hill is definately a better option.  Trump is pretty on the eyes, tough on the wallet, and just over the top with super narrow fairways and amusement park waterfalls.

Agreed. If looking at the course itself, Trabuco is better. As an experience, Pelican Hill is very nice, although it should be for the price. If opting for Pelican, go for the North course.

Thanks! Is there a big difference between the north and the south?

Pelican Hill is way better, both are worth playing.

Trump is a pass, it cost me $600 to play with my wife and that was a complete waste of money and a nice of property.

It looks like a babe with too much make up and too much plastic surgery.
Live Jupiter, Fl, was  4 handicap, played top 100 US, top 75 World. Great memories, no longer play, 4 back surgeries. I don't miss a lot of things about golf, life is simpler with out it. I miss my 60 degree wedge shots, don't miss nasty weather, icing, back spasms. Last course I played was Augusta

Pelican North for sure over the South. Both are improved after the recent "re-perfection". ??? The South has a few golf holes that are simply awful, with an overage of faux rockscapes, interior mounding, etc. The best holes on the North are a touch better than those on the South...and the worst holes are far better.

At the prices they charge, the general reaction by locals is muted - 25-30 decent golf holes up there, but at $235 per round with $15 bloody mary's, people look at them both as more of a 1x per annum deal. With the pending opening of the resort, rates will be going up and local play will diminish even further....leaving Marriott timeshare and other tourist play....exacerbated by the fact that 50% of the people that live down here being realtors or mortgage brokers.

I've not played Trump as of yet but all reports have been negative.
