They do not permit/highly discourage pictures, so they are few and far between. There was a thread a while back with a link to some, but they may be gone by now.

Not mine, just found on the web. (I wouldn't even think of taking pictures there.) This is #10.

... San Fran CG ...

I think the appropriate shorty name that the Club would support would be "Frisco GC" ...

The first place to look is our Photo Tour directory at delicious.com.... but there aren't any Photo Tours posted for SFGC that I'm aware of

delicious.com/golfclubatlas/California

The next place I always look is flickr.com

Interesting. what other courses don't allow pictures? I was allowed to take as many as I wanted at Pine Valley, LACC, Merion, Cypress etc....

Thats a great picture of #10 which in the feature interview, Grant Spaeth called his favorite hole at San Francisco.   I don't think I have ever seen it in that pristine of condition, at least in that photo.

I was talking with a member the other day who told me that there is a movement there to try and make the conditions similar to Augusta.

Well, a bunch of them are members at Augusta anyway so that doesn't sound as unreasonable as it would anywhere else.

Does anyone think the rough line on the right should be to he right of the bunker?  I don't think Tillinghast would like like the rough stopping the ball from rolling into the bunker.

What exactly does "more Augusta-like" entail?

The closely mown areas that completely surround the clubhouse and melds seamlessly into the 1st and 10th Tees and the practice area to the east of the clubhouse is already reminiscent of the clubhouse area at Augusta.

Its a really cool maintenance feature.

SPDB good call there, although won't some complain about the lack of "texture"?

As long as we're talking "Frisco," (hah!) why do all you in the region call it "NorCal"? Isn't it "NoCal"?

SFGC already has that.

SFGC suffers from 2 things on their conditioning.  The first is the fairways needs to be top dressed.   Even though the course sits on a sand dune, 75 years of thatch are under the fairways.   You take a divot there and its just mud 1/2 inch under the fairway.  Its expensive yet something they really need to do.

#2 is they water that golf course about double what they have too.

Matt:  I heard they have 9 members at SFGC that belong to ANGC.

Huh? I said that they already had it, and that it was already reminiscent of a similar feature at ANGC.

"Norcal" just seems to sound better than "NoCal", which has definite negative connotations.

SoCal will always be SoCal.

I played the course with a camera in my bag, and never took it out.

Photos just aren't done.

The guy who posts on flickr under the name "birdie eagle birdie" is a frequent lurker on golfclubatlas.com.  I first made contact with him a couple of years ago when I was searching for photos of the Sheep Ranch and his were the only ones I could find.  He would be a good addition to this site.
