You are all missing another obvious possibility: A VERY large DOME!! Yep, cover the entire course. Impossible? Perhaps NOW. But if enough people bitch about a little wind and rain, and the sponsors think it will get better ratings, the technology will likely come!

Doug--As foolish as that sounds, I have thought, if such a facility could even be built, that it would be a good idea for a place with a large population but bad weather for a good part of the year, or a place like Vegas. Probably crazy, I know, but I think of things like that.
