Perfect Fairways

Recently I played the Fazio Course/Pronghorn.
The fairways were so perfect that we felt they were the best we had ever seen.
Literature available at the course states that the sand capping is 12 to 18 inches thick.
The grass is Penn Eagle Creeping Bent Grass cut at one third of an inch.
Can anyone comment on this type of fairway?

Invariably, fairways like you describe often lead me to play to a round where I hit only 1 or 2 out of 14, thereby hardly ever getting to hit off of them. Ugh...
