I would prefer no markers, but as a compromise I don't mind sprinklers with yardage plates.  150 poles to the side are okay, not ideal, especially if it really helps with figuring out carry distance off the tee.  150 markers up the middle is a bit dopey.  We have 150 stones off to one side only and they don't aid at all from the tee...strictly second/third shot helpers.  Often times, the stones are way off into the rough and visitors don't even realize there are markers.
