Shoreacres Tree Removal
« on: July 22, 2008, 09:26:05 PM »
Last week I heard that Shoreacres underwent a tree removal program.  Has anyone played it since?  What are your thoughts?

I found this site that seems to detail the process quite well.

They need caddies with with white overalls, or else it's a slacker hell hole... ;)

Yes, I've been out there quite a few times.  It's noticeable, particularly on 9, 17 and 18.

Noticeably better? or worse?

Shoreacres would be better if there were caddies with jumpers.   Everything is better with jumpers.

been there twice this year - most noticeable hole for me was 17 on the right side of the fairway and they trimmed back / removed some trees etc on the short - par 3 12th - which improved the look

Chip--

I believe the only public Raynor course is the nine hole course at Hotchkiss School in Lakeville, CT.  And some of it has been shifted around because of school buildings expansion, so it's not 100% Raynor anymore.  Jim Kennedy would have much more on it.

The University of Minnesota's golf course, across the road from Midland Hills, is a public course and was designed by Raynor.

The redan green looks like it has shrunk a bit.
Thinking of Bob, Rihc, Bill, George, Neil, Dr. Childs, & Tiger.
