Great par 4s.  Lots of them.  I played at the suggestion of Cummings and enjoyed it immensely.  See if if you are in the area.

Golfing my way around the course
Erratic drives of varying force
Oh, please, not in a rut
Get me to the green, I always can putt
As long as I don't first find the gorse

I just played in the Baltimore Two Man a few weeks ago there and I love the course. Its conditioning was not as good as in prior years, but it is a good layout. It is where I played my first 18 holes of golf. Not sure who Gus Hook is though.

Fellows,

Gus Hook was the Parks Superintendent of Baltimore for many years, beginning in the 30s, I believe.

There is a brief profile of him in "The Architects of Golf" by C&W.

He was involved with changes or outright designs of most of the Baltiimore city courses.

I don't know how he learned what he did, but he did a splendid job, as Baltimore has a plethora of worthwhile city courses.
