I'll get this out of the way as the UK courses don't get the
same # of views/discussion as the American ones.
This is Sunningdale GC, in the town of the same name, in the
western suburbs of London. The Old course was done by
Willie Park (1901) and the New was done by Harry Colt (1923).
The New course is the one with more heather.
Sunningdale has hosted many types of events, from an Open
qualifier in 1926, played by Bobby Jones to a 66, to the 1956
Dunlop Masters, Gary Player's first professional victory, to the
1987 Walker Cup, to the 1992 European Open, to the
Weetabix Women's British Opens in 1997 and 2001, and
Shell's Wonderful World of Golf (Player vs. Nicklaus) in 2000.
It surprises me that there is not a course profile here on
Sunningdale. Perhaps because neither brother has played
the New course.
clues include:
previous AOTD laden with heather was Swinley Forest.
tanning Little E = Sunning Dale (Earnhardt, Jr.)
tanning Trigger cowgirl = Sunning Dale (Evans)
St. Andrews course names = Old and New (no Jubilee here)
Nicklaus has professional course record of 67 on New course.
Westchester County, NY course named Sunningdale CC.
"Park" = Willie
