Broken Arrow near Chicago

Has anyone played this course? I have been invited to join some friends there this weekend and I'm trying to decide if it's worth the 2 hour drive or not. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

Brian, not worth the trip.  Non-starter on the architectural front, and conditions nothing to write home about.  Way, way too many better options in that neck of the woods -- Ruffled Feathers and Big Run blow Broken Arrow away, and even Heritage Bluffs and Mistwood are far, far better golf courses than Broken Arrow (even with a couple of funky holes at Mistwood, it generally plays hard and fast, and if the wind blows look out).  I would rank Broken Arrow with Carillon or Gleneagles. . . play if you want to enjoy the company of friends (after all, the beer's just as cold at Broken Arrow as anywhere else), but not for the golf experience.

Mark makes good points....I think Heritage Bluffs is the best course of the ones he mentioned...
199 played, only Augusta National left to play!

I don't know where you are driving from, but if it is two hours away I can promise you that there are much better options closer.  The only reason that I can see to go is if you want to hang out with some friends.  Don't go for the course - you will be let down.

Thanks for the input guys. Yeah, this trip is mostly to see my friends but I would like the course to be interesting at least. I talked to my friend and we may try one Mark's recommendations. Thanks for the help!

Brian

Heritage Bluffs is by far the best of those mentioned.  Mistwood has some interesting holes and Broken Arrow is definately a notch below those.

Either way, have fun with your friends.

Brian,
You may have trouble getting on at Heritage Bluffs on Sunday as there's a Weekly Challenge event there that morning until about noon.  But it will probably be in pretty good shape out there because they have their two-day open event coming up the first weekend in May. . .
