I'm sure he would trade all 19.

But that's with perfect hindsight.  In the moment, he made his decisions on the course to give himself the best chance of winning.  There are majors he would have won if he'd been more aggressive ... but there are others he would have lost with the same approach.  He played the percentages, and I think he played them well.

The question was not to suggest that he failed at anything, just that for him, I bet second places don't feel very good...even today.

Each and every one of them. I'd bet my bottom dollar Nicklaus had the same point of view Tiger and so many other top golfers have: you either win the tournament or you lose it.
