Unusual Hole Locations at the Masters

#3, back-right on Sunday
#6, lower-left on Sunday
#11, middle-right, far from the water (?)
#16, three left pins and only one on the ridge

Most of the pins are in their traditional Sunday locations, but any thoughts about the handful that aren't? Hasn't the Sunday pin on #6 been on the back right for years? I think Faldo always said that's how you judged your nerve and precision on Sunday.

And #11, away from the water...

Here's a thought on #11. With the pin close by the water, it's a no-brainer to aim well right of it. With the pin well right of it, the guys will now have to strongly consider aiming towards the water (understood that there is 15 or 20 yards there) because they can't expect to make par from right of the green...

Just a thought.

Great point, JES.  The left pin location is more amenable to putts from the front of the green as well, I believe.

The right pin definitely penalizes the bail out shot, which half the field seems to hit on Sunday.
