Since I'm in a bunch of non-scoring matches (both ODM and PG), I have a few suggestions:

Shouldn't I get an automatic point for ROW for stepping up to ODM?  If you can't find a local to join the NorCal team to round us out with twelve that sounds a lot like a forfeit and a point for ROW.  All I've got left to do is heckle Ed in the Getka/Fleisher match.   ;D ;D

Can we at least get a Friday morning Spyglass Hill match on the card?

Bert/Wall v. Jenkins/Mayhugh sounds like a natural thriller.  I'll even wear my plaid or bright yellow pants if Jordan wears the hot pink shirt.

Tim Bert,

Although I have absolutely no authority from John Mayhugh, on behalf of John and I, I am prepared to accept your challenge. I just hope you do not speak to Sean Leary before we arrive on the Monterey Peninsula.

Word is that Jordan only wears pink shirts but all I recall is that he has never been able to keep his shirt tucked in so he may very well get kicked off the course before the match ends.

John and I against you and Jordan. Best ball. I have never met John but I am most willing to get into this with you.

If the Canadian $ remains where it is, you may want to change the currency.

Bob -

I have no idea whatsoever Sean Leary or the Canadian $ have to do with anything I said, but I like the mystery and intrigue!

Looking forward to it.  We just need to get Mr. Huckaby to assign us an official point.

Tim:

Dammit.  I knew I'd get something wrong.  Hopefully you can see that this is a difficult puzzle.   ;D

In any case I surely didn't mean for anyone to have more than one "non-scoring" match.  So my apologies.  Just understand you are non-scoring for ODM because I fear you might not make the tee-time given your Spyglass round, and how long those tend to take... and you're non-scoring at PG only because the severe imbalance of the teams there requires a LOT of non-scoring players, and you just had the luck of the draw.  Well, change that to say I just screwed up.

SO... given that PG Muni round remains pretty up in the air anyway - lots of people haven't confirmed FOR SURE they are playing in that - and in the spirit of fun.... well... check out the revised pairings sheet.

Hey Tom,

Are you revising the pairings on the 1st page or 2nd page?

Doh,

Never mind that, looks like 38 is the official pairings...my bad.

I think I can speak for Robert Ball, but we will DEFINTELY be at PG Sat morning.

Post 38 is indeed the official pairings, and will remain so for GCA posting purposes.

And good man, David.  But given the early time, well... I don't want to count too much as cast in stone re that round.  Note also that in terms of who I put as non-scoring, it was part luck, part just to make fair matches... which was darn tough to do given the players that round.

PLEASE no yellow pants!

Kalen,
Collecting scorecards is a good idea. Too bad it escaped the dixie cats. ::)

Tom,
Great job on pairings. Evan & I should hammer that 5 hdcper with local knowledge. Just let us know where Evan should hit it so he can validate his victory at the ranch.

Peter,  you of all people should know that there is no such thing as a scorecard in match play.

John,
Yes I do, but the OGA seems to ask match play contestants to turn in a card so they can enter a score for handicap purposes. My little dig 8) was for last year's Dixie Cup where the players in the first match had to leave early and no one knew (or possibly didn't remember) the result and the rest of the competition was tied or within one match.

Tom,

Seriously, could we get this as a match?

He's already added us (see updated reply #38)

I apologize in advance for dragging you down, Mr. Wall.  I hope you bring your 'A' game Friday morning.

Tom,
I have someone in mind for Old Del Monte to pair up Tim. I'll let  you know this afternoon.
John Krystynak is joining us at Pasatiempo only.

Several changes made today based on requests received, posts here, etc.  #38 should now be up to date.  Ed, do let Stan Dodd know if we have another player for ODM - he made the tee times.  Let me know also as depending on who it is and handicap, it could change all the pairings.

Ok, so let me get this straight.  I can't get the ball in the air, and I get a 1.7 and a MEMBER of Pasa....

Serves me right for truth-telling....OK, change of tactics...I'm playing awesome.....my last 5 rounds were 68, 69, 66, 65 and 69....who do I get now, Mrs. Havisham?  ;D

You freakin' nearsighted crybaby - yes Rob is a member, but if you read correctly, he's a SEVEN.

Count your lucky stars I don't make you the NorCal you once were and set you up for an asskicking by Jon Spaulding.

I can barely type this I'm laughing so hard, Dave! :D

Don't give him that much credit, David.  It would have been damn funny if his opponent really was a 1.7 - and I would have taken credit for punishing the lad.  As it is his "oh poor me" tactics got me to have him play against a 7 and he ought to be praising the lord for my mercy.

Oh I know, he's using one of his lawyer-discredit-the-organizer tactics. ;) I'm not buying it for a second! ;D

This ain't a Merion thread.

Nor do I give him that much credit.

But if he really is trying to whine his way out of playing against a 7, then his fate shall indeed be the team switch and Spaulding-fodder.

It's good to be the king.

Spaulding vs. Schmidt would be entertaining cross-country golfing at its best.  It would be a nice match to follow with beer, a hard hat, and a good set of binoculars.

Seeing how this thread is getting the most action, thought I would post this here:

Ed are we still on for dinner at this place on Saturday night?

"Stan Dodd arranged for us to eat at Vivolos Chowder House, which has a private room we have reserved for our group. There is also pasta and chicken available for those not into seafood. I tested out the food last week and was happy with the room and the food. Expect entrees to be in the $14-22 range primarily. Monterey doesn't have a value menu.  The restaurant is a few blocks from the Aquarium towards PG."

As well dinner and drinks for those in town on Friday night will be in the hotel at Old Del Monte at approx 6:30-7 ish.

Reef Wilson is the man.  We now have another match set for PG Muni.  Note also thought occurred to me we sure as hell can have one match count at Pajaro.. and since I am not playing on the weekend, well...I want to count more than just once!  So I set up a match for myself.  All changes now on post 38.  At the end of this next week we'll do a FINAL PAIRINGS thread.
