It looks like I have to sit this one out.  I apologize for the late scratch.... I am being pulled into an ncaa draft pool and its apparently the only night they can do it.  We have done it the last 15 years so I cant miss :-[

I will definitely try to make the next one and thanks for setting this up!

Attendees,

Our presenter would like to show some slides. We are in search of a projector and hook up for a Mac pro with a vega hook up. The show must go on.

I'm waiting for final confirmation but think I have a projector.

Also I'm going to bring a box of my 13x19 photos to display.  I have a lot of Chicago shots as well as some Nebraska, the UK and other US courses.  I'll  sell them if anyone is interested (special GCA discount tonight only) with all proceeds going to research and photography costs related to my book on GCA in Chicago 1892-1940.  I have been making great progress on it this winter and hope to finish in 18 months or so.

Dan does excellent work. I recently purchased 3 matted prints from him and they are beautiful. I'm looking forward to seeing some more of his work this evening. See y'all there...

+2  It was a great time.  Was anyone actually able to finish their steak?

I didn't - and still was full until lunch time the next day.

So what did Jim have to say?

Sven,

Jim had a hard time getting a word in between Terry and Shelly...;-)

He covered a wide range of topics, but I wish he could have spent some more time discussing the pending large restoration project at BoB O Link.

Gents, thanks for allowing me to join this esteemed group for dinner. Someone needs to take that steak knife out of Lavin's hands, though. The man's a terror. Really enjoyed meeting everyone and hearing Jim talk about course evolution, from the gradual changes to tee boxes from adding sand to the effect of top dressing greens has on the height of greens.

I too thought they brought Fred Flintstone's steak to me. Gotta love Chicago!
