Melbourne World Masters Games
« on: July 31, 2002, 10:36:55 AM »
Entry deadline for the Games is 5th August for golfers 35 and older. This is a great reason to check out Australia's best courses and meet GCA Downunder and maybe check out construction at St Andrews Beach.  It is a super event, which I had the privilege  to help run when it was held in Portland four years ago. Particulars and on line entry can be found at their website....  2002worldmasters.org

Figure $US1000 for airfare from LA and about $100/night for lodging. Extending for more golf in Melbourne or Sydney is highly encouraged.

October 7th- Par competition at either Green Acres, Peninsula, Spring Valley or Kingswood.

October 9th-Stableford competition at either The National (RTJ), Flinders, Portsea or Sorrento.

October 11th- Stroke competition at either Commonwealth, Kingston Heath, Yarra Yarra or Riversdale.

October 14th - Finals for top 120 players at Royal Melbourne

I don't know what sort of lodging yoy want but the B & B at Victoria Golf Club  -next to RM - is a good deal and a good place to use as a base.

You could book through the office.

Peter,

I'm still hobbling around on crutches, but I'm looking forward to meeting you when you come to Melbourne.

I was looking forward to playing in the Masters Games, but golf is out for me until next year.

Sounds great Pete but they have more than golf.  They got rugby, too.  You in?
