I feel pretty good about Los Angeles being the number one given the greatness of the golf and the largest poker room in the world The Commerce club.  Besides The Commerce you have at least five other excellent card rooms with an amazing variety of games.  I also went out on a limb and put Bandon in the top ten based 90% on the great golf and the fun little game up at Coos.

Has anyone gone to Paris and played at The Aviation Club...I have not but have to believe Paris would be top ten.  Atlantic City, Tunica, Biloxi, Madison WI, New Orleans, etc..etc..Maybe Vegas even though I think both the poker and golf are not up to standard.

Lets get some nominations for best poker/golf cities in the world and see if we can come up with a list.

Poker players are not afraid of a little ass time so as long as a great poker room is within one hours drive of a great course they might as well be side by side.

As is most things Europe I know nothing.  I just checked and it looks like London has some decent poker rooms.  How about over in Ireland and Scotland?

You have to include San Diego.  With Barona by itself, you have a strong contender.  Other strong poker facilities include Sycuan, Viejas, and I'd assume Pala and Harrah's have a decent poker situation.  Up the road another 20 minutes is Pechanga.

Golf-wise it's a little weaker but Barona is a strong leader.  Torrey for all the bad-mouthing on here isn't as bad as advertised on the South, and the North is pretty.

When I was at Barona they didn't have poker.  It does not matter if the courses are public or private.  I am however not in the slightest interested in private poker rooms.

I personally didn't find the poker to be anything special in Aruba. Granted, I was there about 4 years ago and the big poker boom hadn't hit. Things may have changed since then.

How about New Buffalo, MI? You've got the new Fourwinds Casino and Blue Chip not too far away.  Lost Dunes, Dunes Club and Point O'Woods are all in close proximity to the area.

Indianapolis has the IPC (Indiana Poker Club) along with several good private and public golf options. It could qualify.

Maybe French Lick when the Dye course opens?

Melbourne would have to be on the list.  Cannot vouch for the poker room but I know Melbourne has a casino.  I am heading over in a month's time so I will let you know.  The Sandbelt courses speak for themselves.

I'll bet the bay area is tough to beat.  With Garden City Casion in San Jose, you are within an hour of Monterey(sans traffic) and San Francisco.

Melbourne has to rank right near the top.  

Poker is massive in Melbourne.  The biggest Poker room in the southern hemisphere (70 tables) and 3-4 times as big as Sydney.  World Series of Poker main event winner Joe Hachem is regularly seen on the high stakes tables, among others.

Just had the Aussie Millions.  $7 million main event prize pool puts it up there with the top WPT events.  

THe golf courses are OK too. (3 of the world's top 60).
