The Wonder of GCA
« on: August 02, 2002, 09:32:30 PM »
I was just contemplating the wonders of the Internet, GCA and the universal love for the game of golf. Today I recieved an e-mail from the UK, e-mail from Japan, an e-mail from a Brit in the States, an e-mail from a first generation Chinese American, and an e-mail from Montana. Add those to the many others from Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Europe, Africa, USA and the rest of the golf world, and it is pretty mind boggling - what a resourse. I don't think Ran (and John) get enough credit, I wonder if they truly realize what they have created.

bob,
Simply go to the top right of the page and click on "Login or Register."

It will then take you to another page where you will have to fill out some fields. Do not forget to remember your password!

I second that Tom. It is amazing how much this site adds to my golf life. I just got in from my sat match. the other 3 are greens committee types ad great guys but look at me with glazed eyes when I address our course as we would on here.

Tom,

You've hit a key for us - GolfClubAtlas.com needs to get more going in/on and from especially the UK and then ideally Japan as well. Then we'll really be cooking!

Our Australian and Canadian friends (Oz more so than Canada based on its many more posters) are doing their part.

Hopefully our upcoming Feature Interview with Robert Price from Scotland will be a help.

Cheers,

I've had the good fortune to play over a dozen games with other GCArs during my short year on this site, and I can state without reservation that every experience has been incredibly positive.  What John describes above has happened to me numerous times.  Most of my golfing friends just don't have the depth and breadth of interest and knowledge that one routinely finds on this site.  As a fellow GCAer said over drinks the other night, we are a very lucky bunch.
