BUDA VI update
« on: December 09, 2007, 11:30:42 PM »
This post is to inform those participating (or wanting to participate) as to the current status of the event, and to explore ways we might be able to enhance the experience.  For greater detail/history please go to the "Home Page" below.

http://www.golfclubatlas.com/forums2/index.php?board=1;action=display;threadid=32031&start=0

Information:

1.  We now have 25 people committed to the event, which is in fact one more than "needed" given that we have 24x5 tee times over the three days (June 16-18), but experience tells us that a bit of slack is needed if we want to fill all those times, so....
2.  If you are interested in participating, it is not too late to commit, however....
3.  If there are more than 24 wanting to play any match, priority will be given in order of entry (first come, first served), however....
4.  If we are in suich a state of serendipity, "fringe" events (i.e. golf at other nearby venues, or even non-golfing fun) can and will be arranged.
5.  Accomodation is available, dinners will be arranged, and significant pre-and apres-Buda activities are being planned.
6.  Other pleasant surprises can and will occur
7.  The 25 committees are, roughly by possible team:

USA

Rich Goodale
Craig Disher
Mike Whitaker
Bill McBride
Joe Beuhler
Joe Fairey
Mike Mazenko
John Reynolds
Bill Linne
Jason Topp
Jarry Taylor
Mark Bourgeois
Stan Dodd
John Kinnear

Rest of the World

Ian Dickson
Mark Pearce
Andy Levett
Martin Bonnar
Tony Muldoon
Andrew Mitchell
Gary Slatter
Conrad Gamble
Peter Mallalieu
Philip Gawith
Lloyd Cole

8.  Thanks, Ran, for the bandwidth.  Are you coming?

Happy holidays to all

Rich

The speed is illusory.  Chances to be involved are likely to extend well into the new year.  See you at Deal, if not before.

Usually there will be one or the other pull-out in these types of events, so there may even be a last-minute chance for me.

Anyone interested in playing at Dornoch later that week?

It looks like I will be traveling with family who will be in Edinburgh during the event.  I hope to take them North after that.

Y'know, Rich, given how successful the Buda event at Painswick was, I think you'd be remiss not to corral everyone and take them to Braid Hills on one of the days. Because of course, Braid Hills is just like Painswick, only better... ;)

Cheers,
Darren

I have played Braid Hills and have alway said that if I was taking someone for a first visit.  I would start at Braid Hils just so people would see 'we aren't in Kansas anymore".
I would love to be up for a Fringe event.

That's why I've always wanted to play Prestwick but haven't been west of Edinburgh yet.

There's not a regular poster on this website who wouldn't LOVE Braid Hills. Fact. ;) You could base the entire BUDA event around Braid Hills, just like we did Painswick, and everyone would love themselves.

(And the price absolutely is right...)
