Its about time you contributed to this thread Brian! ;)  Man that 1st green at Greywalls is a trip.  I can't think of any other green I've played where I miss the green more often than I hit it from 60 yards.  I hope we can have a few rounds together up in Marquette next year.

I totally agree with you on the first at Greywalls - one of the most intimidating approaches from any angle and any distance.  I always try to hit the back half of that green no matter where the flag is located, and that seems to work the best.

Hope we can tee it up together sometime in 2008.

This is almost boastful on my part.....isn't that tree beautiful?

The tree "almost" looks as if it could be on fire...very cool!

BTW...is that Mrs. Trixie on the tee, or just some innocent bystander?  :o

I think that I shall never see a poem lovely as a ... well, as a tree, of course!

That definitly is merion 13 and I think they take the wicker baskets away once the season is officially over and put the flags in.

Here's another from Merion taken yesterday.  The leaves have remained on the trees a long time this year in SE Pennsylvania.

Brad thanks for this post as well as the rest of you for your contributions. The only fall colors we get in Tigerland are purple and gold. Also I have a number of words I might use to describe a gorgeous woman but beautiful tree is not among them lol

Wayne,

Your last picture stands in stark contrast (oops...almost Freudian in that I nearly misspelled "contrast" with two s's!) with my picture with the slender, colorful tree.

Those darn oaks hold their leaves forever.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Tiger,

Was there a tree in that picture of the gorgeous woman?  I didn't notice  ;)

Joe,

I don't know why, but the Maples and Sycamores around here are holding on as well.  I cannot recall anytime close to this late in the season, that the leaves have held on, but then again my memory is almost as bad as Tom Paul's and he's A LOT older than I am.

Most of the leaves are gone in Portland, Oregon.  The 14th at Pumpkin Ridge (private), in the late afternoon:

Ratho Golf Links in Bothwell, Tasmania.

I was told by a dapper elderly gentleman that was caretaking the course that he thought the crop in the distance is canola.

These aren't exactly Fall colors, but the southern hemisphere needs some mention, eh?

Beautiful colours guys, thanks.

Now can Slag or anyone explain how we don't get (the sugars?) colours like that in good "Old England"?

Not many deciduous trees out here on the left coast so we will substitute an unretouched photo ...

WOW!  Superb photograph, Mike.  What kind of camera did you use?  I just got a Leica D-Lux 3 and I'm having a lot of fun experimenting with it.

It isn't the camera but tweaking the color/brightness adjustment in the software, essentially closing the aperture and underexposing the shot.
