Well I searched and after looking I did not see many pics I know it has been discussed on here before but I was very impressed so I have to post some. The day looked terrible on the drive down from the air port. I was just going to have lunch and look at the course. I got there about 1:45 and as soon as I pulled in the lot it was like the golf gods called and said you must play the clouds parted and the sun was shining.. I played, the pro there Nick was very generous, I only had about 3 hours of day light he Granted me the local rate and at the end of the round fitted me with a nice 1st issue stocking cap.. on to the course..What can I say just the drive down was great you get this view of the course that is very beautiful over looking the sound.. then you get to #1 and it is a beast 490 into a slight breeze, great start driver, 1 iron into the first hole. ok enough of the babbling on to the pics...

15th  139 from my tees hit 8iron and was about 10 yards short...

  yes that is a 1 iron was a little short with it hit pretty decent..



the 18th I am really mad about this one some how the setting got messed up on the camera so the picture is bad



Over all a fantastic day on the "links" the greens and surrounds will need some grow in time, but in time I think this will be a fantastic course...

Did you play the tippy tips?

Nice to hear that the Nik was accomadating to a visitor.  

Tacoma can have some very nice days in the winter.  I just wouldn't travel here and expect it.  Yesterday was cold and very wet, which will be the norm for another three months.  

Tee times certainly don't look to be a problem.

Brian, i was there yesterday morning.. It was 36 and cold with overcast skies.. Did you play yest? because it poured in the afternoon in Seattle!

I was the only one on the course and left at noon, if so we just missed each other.

Jordan : I played the navys that was plenty.. 7200 yards or so. looking at some of the tees I don't know that I could handle the "tippy tips"(7600)  with no roll like I was getting... It would be very tough with roll IMO...

Noel: I played the 17th, Sat in the afternoon when it was sunny and a balmy 55. I actually played most of the round in short sleeves.

Just got an email saying that 'winter rates' for residents are now $55 including tax.  That is a $19 reduction from previously announced rates.

In a word YES!.  

I think there are several reasons which stem from the original planning decisions and marketing choices.  It hasn't helped that The Home Course opened virtually simultaneously and has been immediatley adopted by almost everyone who has played it from the county.

Interestingly the green fees are now quite similar with Chambers only slightly higher during the winter months, as would be expected from its location, views and high profile architect.  

I would expect to see some aggressive marketing to local golfers and a very welcoming attitude to them when they come out, something that may have been missing from earlier marketing and branding strategies.  I think this new move is similar to what happened in Bandon in the early years of that resort.
