David,

I took at look at the 3rd hole from Rans review and while it is interesting, I couldn't see any play that involved intentionally playing past the green.  In looks like there is OB over the green, which would certainly discourage any type of desire to play to that green from behind it.

But it does look like a neat "out of the box" kind of hole.

I've never played Rustic Canyon, but T+L's writeup included the suggestion: "You can even drive it over the green and pitch back."
