Family golf vacation
« on: November 24, 2007, 03:44:49 PM »
For the first time in a few years, my two boys (14 and 12) have the same spring break schedules.  They opted for the warm weather option over skiing, and my wife, God love her, suggested a family golf trip.

Are there any resorts that stand out as a good family option, and are warm in late March?  The boys can play, and like the idea of seeing new and interesting golf courses....

Matt, Myrtle Beach could be a good option for you. Should be
able to get a fair deal in March and the weather should be
alright as well. I would recommend Caladonia and the Barefoot
Resort, I believe they have 3 courses by Dye, Norman & Love.

Myrtle Beach is a good choice.  Kids will often play free or nearly so.

I took my family to San Antonio a few years ago and we had a great time...the family played Pecan Valley, The Quarry, Canyon Springs, and the Golf Club of Texas golf courses, enjoyed Sea World, the Riverwalk, the Alamo and more.

Good luck and have fun.

Myrtle Beach or Hilton Head. MB will give you alot more bang for your buck and greater access during a high demand period. HH just has a greater aura- higher class? Also down in the FL panhandle Sandestin is nice not to mention the great courses in Gulf Shores.

Definitely MB. March is iffy, but you should be OK.

I always like Kings North, the boys will love it.

Check out the twilight rates, you can do very well after 1 or 2, and then maybe play a premium course like Tidewater. And if they are up for 36, go to Legends and play a Doak and a Dye!

Casa d Campo, perfect weather at that time of the year and great golf

Live Jupiter, Fl, was  4 handicap, played top 100 US, top 75 World. Great memories, no longer play, 4 back surgeries. I don't miss a lot of things about golf, life is simpler with out it. I miss my 60 degree wedge shots, don't miss nasty weather, icing, back spasms. Last course I played was Augusta
