I'm confused, is Labbance writing a biography on Walter H. Travis? I can see the adverts now:

Very interesting resource. I looked up the bigamy article and it was about Walter H. Travis. The Old Man was Walter J. Travis (John) and his friends and wife called him Jack. Clearly a different person and this may well be the reason why The Old Man's initial was commonly used - to differentiate him from the bigamist! Best advise Bob of this so he doesnt have a heart attack over it!
Lots of good stuff in there for the Travisophile.

Yes, I can see that now - I have to say it went over my head too the first time I read your post, it was perhaps a little too obtuse for me and I didn't make the distinction between H and J. Least we have both come to the same conclusion.
