Now we're looking for a DOAK quote
« on: October 26, 2007, 12:33:37 PM »
I don't have my cop of the CG in the office - it sits proudly in my bookcase in the den - but pretty please, with sugar on top, can anyone find a Doak quote that goes (according to Mike Strantz),

"when he described in his book The Confidential Guide Mackenzie’s 'penchant for designing holes on the borderline of par, where strokes can slip away so easily or be regained so dramatically.'"

BY the way, moderators, the old thread about those other quotes can be deleted.  Thanks.

I think it's in his description of Pasa.
What does it matter if the poor player can putt all the way from tee to green, provided that he has to zigzag so frequently that he takes six or seven putts to reach it?     --Alistair Mackenzie--
