OK, then it must be #10, since #12 has a distinct fallaway to the back right of the green. One of my playing partners made a 2 on #10, with a 200 yard shot from the 11th fairway. I made one of three pars I had that day.
I only played there once, but there are many blind shots. Very hard to play the first time. A good debate could be developed regarding blindness, and whether a quirky course like Oakmont deserves its lofty ranking. No great modern course has as many blind shots. You can have 5-7 blind approaches at Ballyneal, but first you have to hit your drive in the wrong place. On #4 at Oakmont, a perfect drive yields a blind shot over a flat horizon.
At the end of the day, we walked out to the 10th tee and viewed the panorama in the gloaming. One thing is certain: Oakmont is beautiful to behold from the top of the hill.
