Golf World reported this story -- complete with doubts as to its veracity -- about two months ago. Gagne had already managed to drum up a lot of attention to her "feat" by then, so Golf World reported on the kerfuffle -- including the spat with and restraining order from her housemate, which certainly put her character into some question, if the holes-in-one claim didn't.
Kindred's piece is certainly interesting, and warranted: How DID this woman keep getting publicity for what was clearly an unbelievable story, and were there really witnesses to back her claim? The Golf Digest piece is in the best tradition of investigative reporting: the anatomy of a scam.
Aside to JK: I find the woman from Ojai infinitely more believable than Gagne, but I don't claim to speak for this site. And even if someone did believe there were a million of us on GCA, whose opinion is it we'd be representing in lockstep -- Mucci's? Huckaby's? Gib's? Wayne's? Yours?
