Mark,
I tried to qualify for a US Am about 10 years ago at Bonnie Briar. I was not really keen on architecture at the time, and I'm sorry, but I can't give you much, first hole is a stern par 4, and I remember some very quick greens. I had heard a few times since that it's possibly getting blown up for houses/condos, but I'm not sure if that is still the case. All in all, it's not one of the more memorable courses I have played.
Played Wee Burn for the first time in July and was very impressed. Some great elevation change on the site (relative to its proximity to Long Island Sound) and it was in fantastic condition. Typical for the area, lots of doglegs, tree lined (but not too intrusive), and some very quick greens.
I would highly recommend Wee Burn if you have the chance to play.
