Stanwich GC....played it in 2001 with a buddy on a grand tour of the Northeast on the same day as Yale....what a difference....figured there should be some uniqueness in a course to be named the #1 in the state, and the small, ridiculously fast, ridiculously sloping greens do not do it for me.  Many blah holes, and we were just brutalized.  Spent the whole day wondering if our caddy, who revered the course, knew we weren't having fun.  The rest of the trip, it was referred to as "Best in Show" Golf Club, in reference to the movie and the layout's supposed status as #1 in CT.

oh, and Kaanapali North, though never highly rated, did host a Senior Tour event...is worth less than a fifth of the $135 asking price....one of the worst resort courses i've ever played
