What is the status of an updated edition of The Architects of Golf?  Has the rapid expansion of courses eliminated the possibility of another edition

I had hoped that the authors would publish a final edition that would only address courses open by 2000 and say enough is enough.  I can't figure out why this book is not sold today other than the fact that the contents are dated. ???

Mike-
At some point on GCA, Ron Whitten said that a he did not have any plans for an updated version of The Architects of Golf.

It's the book that launched my interest in all this stuff. A used one runs close to 200 bills these days.

I think that Dr.David Hamilton's 1998 publication

"Golf: Scotland's Game"

is one of the most important books on golf ever, and whilst not being at all focussed on golf course architecture, through it you can learn the building blocks of the game of golf and the evolution of the early golf courses.

A must for any library on anything about golf.  One of the best reserached, written and illustrated books i have ever read.
