Yes, that does make sence.
I'd like to write my autobiography -- if only for myself.
But I've been learning/trying to communicate for almost 40 years.

Lloyd,
I really enjoy music.
I have your latest cd and have listened to it many times -- I like it.
I think I could write the words to a good song - I imagine it would take a long time to get them simple enough.
The music - I wouldn't even know where to start...
I would have written a poem, not a song.
That may be more similar to creating a golf course -- designing and not overseeing construction.
And with a song or book there is little risk....

Would you use an editor for your autobiography?
Thinking of Bob, Rihc, Bill, George, Neil, Dr. Childs, & Tiger.

Ian,
Funny you should mention it... I went to a piano tuner the other day for my physical.

As for stories of guys who've tried it themselves and floundered miserably....  I saw some pictures recently that made me ill -- and they had an "experienced" contractor.

Don would have posted that for every solo artist there were hundreds of failures -- he is probably busy untying his tounge from this thread.

:)

Mike,

Little risk if you consider dedicating yourself to a project for 6 months to 3 years and not necessarily making any profit from it...

Any editor, no. The right editor - absolutely. And not to sound too negative there.. I do believe that ones work will gravitate towards the right editor.
