Nathaniel Crosby WC Captain
« on: December 13, 2017, 11:03:14 AM »
Nathaniel Crosby has been named the 2019 Walker Cup captain. Sort of surprised to be honest, didn't even know he was on the USGA's radar. I was putting my money on two-time Mid Am champ Tim Jackson. Shows you how much I know ;)

Talk about a buried lede. I almost missed this thread. The inner workings of the USGA are always interesting. I think about the triumvirate of golfers ridiculously left off USA sides (Brandt Snedeker, John Peterson and Sam Burns) and remember that nothing is impossible in MoreFar Hills, back of beShort, NJ.

Does the USGA owe anything to the memory of Der Bingle, to its former Amateur champion Nathaniel? Probably not. There truly should be no strategy in NC's setting of the lineups, as the team members will doubtless know each other much better than he will.

I'll follow along with interest.
