Turns out the peripatetic Mike Whitaker was able to join in at the last moment and round out our foursome at Musgrove Mill. My first time seeing the course and man, is it a hoot. The first hole has more going on from tee to green than some courses manage on the whole front nine. And the interest continues throughout the round. What a fun place to play golf.
I will quibble about the 18th hole which frankly, I did not care much for. The entire course is challenging but the closing hole is the only one that in my opinion caters only to the stronger player. But so many of the holes out there are perfectly playable for a short hitting bogey golfer like myself while being all that a good player would care to handle. That's a sign of a fine, fine golf course in my book.
Thanks for the invite, Daryl. A perfect day.
