Chris,
I forgot that you did Bent Tree, I would put it higher of those two.

Jim,

That would be the Brassie in Chesterton.  They are big on hyperbole.  In front of their course they have a sign that says "Best Greens in the North".  Not sure in who's opinion or how they measure that.

Okay Mike C.

Seeing that I live in the next town down from Cartersville (Acworth), there definitely has to be some future get togethers.

Even though I hate to pile on AG, I have to agree with you, Barnsley was a real disappointment.  #3 was good, 13 was okay, but the rest of the course really had me wondering what the big deal was (other than conditioning).

Its funny that Plantation has been brought up, I haven't been there since it was called Royal Oaks, but thought it might be worth a visit again since it looks like there has been some money put into it recently.  That place is a pretty good example of a course that has probably benefitted a lot from the fast expansion of Metro Atlanta in the NW corner.  It used to be out in the middle of nowhere.

I know someone who just recently joined Cartersville CC.  He lives all the way down in Marietta, but loves CCC for the financial deal that it is coupled with the course quality.

Next time down, other than the upcoming Dixie Cup, we'll have to get a group together to play.  Cobblestone, here in Acworth, wouldn't be a bad start; with lots of other possibilities around also.

Keith.

Chris,

You're right, it is the Brassie.  I remember back in the early days of courses having websites, you couldn't find anywhere on their site that said Jim Fazio was the actual designer.  I looked at it today and they do have him listed clearly.  I never played the course primarily because they were obviously trying to dupe the golfing public.
